HAVERHILL PAL ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
Because of the physical and verbal abuse taking
place at youth sporting events across the country, MYSA, ECYSA and
other soccer organizations have adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy.
Haverhill PAL Soccer has decided to take a proactive approach and
adopt the same.
This policy is for Haverhill PAL Soccer.
It is the responsibility of ALL, coaches,
parents, relatives, siblings and players to maintain the highest
standards of conduct for themselves in all matches. Abusive and
obscene language, violent play, violent conduct, fighting and other
behavior detrimental to the game will not be tolerated. It is the
responsibility of ALL present to support the referee.
Spectator and player control includes the times prior to, during and
after games at the fields and the surrounding areas.
ALL persons present
at any PAL player event shall support the referee and his/her
decisions. Failure to do so will undermine the referee’s authority
and has the potential of creating a hostile environment for the
players, the referee and all other participants and spectators.
It shall be the responsibility of the Haverhill
PAL coaches to live up to and enforce this policy.
Penalties:
- Any minor infraction:
A verbal request (warning) will be given by a coach or referee,
and it expected that the reason for the warning will stop
immediately.
- Subsequent infractions:
The offending person or player will be asked to leave the
playing fields area immediately until their next scheduled
event.
- Serious or consistent infractions:
The offending person or player will be asked to leave the
playing area immediately and remain off of any PAL playing areas
until the Board of Directors has discussed the situation. PAL
will reserve the right to take such action, as it deems
necessary up to and including permanent dismissal from the PAL
leagues and playing areas. Should anyone not comply with these
rulings PAL will seek assistance from the local Police
department immediately.
It is our intent that this policy should be carried out with a
quality amount of understanding and intelligence. It is not our
intent to unfairly judge or impede anyone’s enjoyment of the game.
These are our children playing a game in an organized environment
and a good example needs to be set for them by all of us.
