ESSEX COUNTY YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION

REFEREES
NEEDED!!

 Why become a youth soccer referee?

Learn the game from a new perspective!  Become a better coach/player/spectator! Flexible locations!
Flexible schedule that you control! Great pay and GREAT EXERCISE Meet new people! 

Help sustain the sport and the organization while getting paid- this is NOT volunteering!

Most games are on weekends, with some midweek available- work the games and days that fit your schedule

Travel referees can make as much as $60 a game depending on the certification grade and In-Town referees can make $20/game.

Grade 9 (certified for U10 and intown games - non-competitive):

  • You are at least 12 years old but not yet 16 years old

  • 8 hours of course work, including a written test

 Grade 8 (certified for U12 and up games - competitive):

  • You are at least 16 years old OR you have been a Grade 9 Referee for at least 1 year and your age plus your years of experience adds to exactly 16 or more

  • 16 hours of course work and pass a 100 question written test
